It's small but not very small. It was deposited in the nest box of the funrun and the only hens who were in the run today were the four new ladies.
It's the wrong colour for Edie. Her's are quite white. It's not Joyce's.
That leaves Katie and Christa. I saw Christa go into the nest. But her eggs are usually not at all small or smooth shelled or dark speckled.
Is it Katie's first egg? Seems likely.
Here's a special Egg Day portrait just in case.

I love that shot. Lovely to see her.
She is a gorgeous lady. Those eyes get me every time.
You’re pretty much sitting upright and I just can’t get comfortable. However, when I caught myself nodding off during a movie, I just hit ‘pause’ and had a nap.Noise cancelling headphones were a necessity when I was doing lots of longhaul flights.
If you're of small stature, on most planes it's possible to rest forward on the tray table and with the blanket over your head, it feels private. My cousin flies quite a lot and that's what she used to do before they started flying her business. You’re pretty much sitting upright and I just can’t get comfortable. They are still dealing with the loss of Betty. Egg production has dropped off. Most notably Phyllis has not laid an egg since Betty passed. I fear that she will not go broody this year now. Even more odd,Glynda's eggs are no longer blue, they have turned an ashe white. Thanks Bob!
I miss your flock. How are they?

The remain 6 are sticking together more as a group than before. The warm weather has relieved Hattie's arthritis and she has become active again. I'm going to have to treat her for pain next winter.
Aurora is definitely running a tight ship. She has them all up on the deck resting and grooming now after the sun goes over the house and the deck is in shade. It makes it easier to get snacks out of Mrs BY Bob if they are all there looking sad. That's very strange about Glynda's eggs. Is that something Frosted Legbars do? Did the eggs fade slowly or overnight?
Poor Hattie. Blossom commiserates with her. Winters are painful for old darlings.
Poor Phyllis. It would be hard to live without your best friend. How are Lady Featherington and Sydney going? I trust Aurora is running a tight ship.
