MJ's little flock

They seem like quite tame cockerels. Are the neighbours still ok with the crowing?

I think Joyce is doing ok, although her back is warmer than Christa's to the touch, so I'm slightly worried about an infection. But in behavioural terms, she's very bright and rambunctious.
I guess we’ll see what they’re like when they’re older than 1? They’re not like @Shadrach ’s roosters, not cuddly/affectionate like Treacle.

Still no-one has complained. Still got fingers crossed that if no-one is getting woken up at stupid o’clock, then day-crowing isn’t bothering anyone.

Also got my fingers crossed for Joyce! :fl

I think Shad would tell you to give them time. I'm sure he would be happy to provide good advice on how to best establish a relationship with them.

I'd love to see some photos of them if you feel like sharing.

Ah! They were Katie's eggs. She went directly to the nest this morning and made a deposit under the watchful presence of Janet and Edie (and myself, although I was watching from the kitchen window).

In this photo, it was still warm. There's a little blood smear on it. It's bigger than the eggs I found yesterday. It's quite brown with freckles. I was hoping she'd lay tiny eggs like Edie. No such luck.

It's not the roosters that are cuddly/afectionate, it's Shadrach.:p

Beautiful egg.

I am not sure why exactly, but I thought, MJ, that you would enjoy this picture of my (not at all cuddly) dinosaurs learning to hunt.
