MJ's little flock

And I'm fresh as a daisy this morning! When my work life was less hectic, I would be at gig with friends most weekends, drinking, dancing, and talking to the wee hours. Looking back it was a glorious time. Anyway, back then I learned to have berocca and two headache tablets before leaving home, then two more headache tablets on returning home after the night out. No hangovers! And I'm delighted to say it still works :D

Last night was fun. It was a bunch of old mates at a quiz night put on by the workers club. We won except that we withdrew our labour in the last round when the crowd were asked to come to the stage to demonstrate how they call their life partners to dinner, which we found politically offensive for excluding singles, for humiliating both participants and audience, and for being inspired by youtube and thus by algorithms. So we came second.

It's quite a moment when the those with all the answers are trumped in the final moments by people imitating youtube videos!
That's rough. Mrs BY Bob and I would also have withdrawn. Congrats on being Ms m smart and answering and the questions. And on having fun and getting drunk. Sometimes that is just what the doctor ordered.

We thought it was very apt and a sort of amusing to go on strike in the workers club, but they didn't give us any extra points! :D

That reminds me. @BY Bob , you asked me about a couple of whiskeys on your thread a while back. I can't find the post but I have a new favourite whiskey. I discovered it on a whiskey tasting night a while ago.

Have you tried any of the Japanese whisky? They are supposed to be top notch. I was given a bottle of something I suspect is rather fancy as a retirement gift. I haven't opened it yet.

Well done avoiding the hangover from hell! And good for you, sticking to your principles!

Very hard to put into words.
You can taste the cask. It's very very smooth. It doesn't change from taste to burn on the way down. Very easy drinking. Ask my eldests husband.:p
We needed collecting at the end of the night.
I wonder if anyone local to me stocks it. I'd like a taste before buying.
