MJ's little flock

It's a relief. I'm already under too much pressure at work for the next few weeks, my student's mother is dying so I'm trying to support my student in getting back home to Sri Lanka before it's too late which involves a lot of form-filling and letter-writing, my neighbour friend has pneumonia so I'm trying to provide some support, my aunty's best friend for 47 years died suddenly a few days ago and Aunty is very sad and needs loving phone calls which I haven't provided enough of, so Mary's eye care is the icing on an already rather large and over-baked cake. Thank goodness my brother doesn't need much from me right now.

Sorry for the list. Sometimes it feels better to just say everything.
Aww MJ. :hugs

That is a lot :hugs :hugs You are right though, it is good to talk about it

Supporting others in their grief takes a lot of energy.

I know it's part of chicken behaviour but I also get very upset at my chickens when they do that sort of thing.
It sounds like Mary herself isn't too shocked ?
She's very stalwart. Peggy appears to have curbed her enthusiasm for violence today, so I'm trusting her to be in the same zone as Mary and the other peaceful hens. Christa isn't trusted yet.

Here are some photos of Mary's eyes from 20 minutes ago.

I think her eye is more open than it was yesterday.

As I finished snapping her eyes, I said thanks darling, get yourself a cool drink. And that's exactly what she did.

Sorry about the noise from the wind. I don't know how to get rid of it.

I think the eye looks better too, it looks like it will heal !

I use on the phone the app youcut video editor. It has a bunch of basic functions like changing the volume and cutting bits of the video. It takes time though, so I don't think it's worth doing when your time is a precious ressource.
I’ve used it mostly to enhance the sounds the chickens make when it's what I’m trying to capture.

Really hope so 🤞 three more early morning trips to the vet for her injections. I'll keep going with the Ibuprofen twice daily too.

Thanks for the tip! I'll get that app.
