MJ's little flock

Awesome. Seems like it was a temporary glitch.
It’s been pretty warm this weekend. Here are the girls from yesterday.

Yesterday my brother and I had a chat about Janet's special perch. It can be done, but it'll take a few steps to get it mounted.

So, I'm tempted to just go ahead and bring Janet into the new roost. There's a sweet spot on the end of the youngster's branch that she might be comfy on.

Mary has her final shot tomorrow morning. I'll leave the hens in their status quo until next weekend then consider the options.

I've bought a solar-powered bug zapper for the hens.

It hasn't zapped anything yet, but it only turned itself on a couple of minutes ago.

I hope the light isn't too bright. I wouldn't want it to disturb their sleep. I might have to make a few observations and consider the best place to hang it. Under the roost box maybe?

Let me know what you figure out.
I have one of those - old and not solar - and I worried about the light too. So I have been issuing it mainly in the evening just before they roost.
Judging from the sound it certainly zaps!
