MJ's little flock

A traffic jam is a very rare occurrence at my place and usually involves two hens squabbling.

Three hens patiently focussed on getting their eggs out is a first. I'm whispering because I wanted to keep my interference to a minimum.

Such polite hens. 🥰

Aurora would grab some combs and clear the box for her use. 😆

Saturday mornings outside with a cuppa and surrounded by hens are a weekly highlight.

The weekend tasks are: prepare the little coop for Christa, hose the poops off the paths, move the garden bench, clean out the roosting box, water the plants.

But first: eggs on toast with ham and a pot of brewed tea.

Seems like a splendid day.

Seems like a splendid day.
So far, so good.

✔The little coop is prepped for Christa.
✔The roosting box is drying in the warm sun - it cleaned up good as new! Later, I'll put the floor panels back and cover them with fine sand; meanwhile then hens have discovered the glory of the coolness under the roosting box and are hanging out under there.
✔I had a wonderful breakfast.
✔I found a sofa for the living room (doesn't sound like much but it has taken a long time to find the right style at the right price).

Today was warm and Janet had a wonderful day. No sneezes. A bit of dozing, lots of snacks. She even found and ate a worm!

Christa has just hopped up the back step and gone into the sleepout. Little does she know I'll be relocating her after dark.
