Janet didn't need to be carried to the new roost last night. I'm proud of her for using the ramp but sad for myself because I loved carrying her.

Maybe I'll just carry her at nighttime as a treat for myself

Also I still have to carry Christa from the sleepout to the roost so I'm not entirely without chicken cuddles.

There’s a game-music conference I’m attending. I didn’t go last year so I was determined to go this year.

Those few occasions when one gets to hold a chicken are wonderfull. I'm allowed to stroke Henry at night when he's on the roost bar. I can do a full length stroke from his head to his tail and he sort of relaxes and partially closes his eyes now.

I know what you're describing. I can stroke most of the hens once they're on the roost. Only Peggy and Katie consider it a reason to perk up.

But you are very lucky. I have never touched a rooster. If I met one, I doubt I would have the right vibe or enough time for him to allow my touch.
