It's a vary daring present ! I’m not sure if I would have loved it or be mortified like Christa.

When I was a teen my grand mother gave me a sweater she had knitted for me that was a bit like this. I hated it at the time but of course now I wish I had kept any of the things she had knitted for me.

It was an amazing effort by Red Marauder. What a champion.

But ... how to put this politely... It's a rather old-fashioned sport.

They've done a lot of work to make the obstacles more jump-able in recent decades, with sight boards and clear ground lines to help the horses take off at a safe distance from a jump instead of taking off too close or too far out, but it's still not great. They could limit the field. It would be a lot safer if only 10 horses (for example) were allowed to start.

It would be perfectly safe if they cancelled it altogether, but that's not easy to achieve when the people who live and breathe horse racing have siblings and cousins who are MPs responsible for making the laws. It's also not easy to achieve when so many are employed in the horse racing industry and the grand national is the race so many people watch and enjoy.

I don't enjoy horse racing whether steeple chase or plain for this reason.

Thanks! I think it'll seat 10 comfortably and 12 at a pinch.

Wow that is big ! You will need a bigger bbcue if you plan to entertain that number of people!

Honestly, I was in two minds for a split second, then I decided to be thrilled

Same. Nana made soft jumpers, but my mum knitted me a particularly scratchy number that I wish I still had for the laughs

I know, it's awful. But I was excited to find out about a horse called Red Marauder!

Isn't it! Another one back from the brink somehow. Quolls are fiesty meat eaters, with scary teeth, about the size of a cat. The one in the story was frightened and trying to defend itself by showing it's teeth.

Apart from wanting to eat chickens, I like quolls. They have spotted coats and are cute when not using their teeth. People, foxes, and feral cats have caused a lot of harm to quolls.

Just trust me on this one. Colours not known in nature.

They aren’t cuddly at the best of times so I thought the sight of me would create mass panic.
But no, they seemed pleased to see me.
Tassels is now a very large lady (no laying yet).
I really must get some weights. She looks like she might be as big as Bernie though not as leggy.
Tassels says hi.

Princess Pigletine also came to say hello. She has started laying. She lays tiny blue eggs.
I don’t know why her tail looks so tatty.
