MJ's little flock

Many years ago I drank tea from samovars staying in Russia. I thought it was good, but that was thirty years ago. Everyone then drank it that way, from the most rural households to people in big cities. I have no clue how it's now, I will ask.
At the time what I experienced was similar as what I then saw in Morocco or Egypt- people would offer you tea anytime of the day as a display of conviviality in small glasses and always with sugar.

I wish I could share a similar story but I have never even seen a samovar, except in photos.

Do you remember the flavour? Was it mild or bitter?

I don't remember, honestly, but if it had been really bitter I would not have been able to drink it even with sugar.
And I do remember each time when either tea or coffee or other drinks that I was served when travelling by locals was very hard to drink . When you actually try to find a way out of drinking it and there isn't🤭.

What a lovely photo of three darlings!
