MJ's little flock

I didn't know the term sundowner and I love it. Is it supposed to be a cocktail or can it be any beverage ?
I'm not sure. I always make a cocktail of some description, but I have to otherwise I'll get a headache.

The one I had the other night was a measure of Bombay Bramble, a half measure of Cointreau, topped up with tonic. It was quite nice, but not citrussy enough. Next time I'll use a full measure of Cointreau.

I suppose you could open a bottle but then you're committed to it until its gone, which would prevent you from trying other drinks.

Each summer when I'm on leave, I try (and usually fail) to learn a new drink and have one a day to celebrate the year that's been and to take time to think. Last year it was Malibu and pineapple juice. This year I'm trying to get the most from a bottle of Bombay Bramble I purchased on a whim.

I think chickens look a lot cooler and relaxed when they sunbathe than when humans do it 🙂.
They really do! I guess their feathery insulation works extremely well.

I noticed Katie closed her eyes in the video. You could feel her saying ahhhhhh. But it's not very safe from a hawk attack!

Tonight's sundowner is the same as last time but with a full measure of Cointreau and correspondingly less tonic water, providing a deeper shade of pink in the glass.

So that's
1 Bombay Bramble
1 Cointreau
Topped up with tonic

It's quite nice but it needs a squeeze of lemon to cut through the sweetness. A blast of yellow would look lovely swimming in all that pink.

Today I had my second decidedly negative covid test in a row, so tomorrow I'm off to the shops and lemons are at the top of the list!

So glad you liked it! How are you? How are the chooks?
We’re ok, although Snowy’s broodiness is doing my head in. She’s started broody jail at night in an effort to break her, and I did see her have a bath today. Still very broody though. I’ll bring her in shortly.

So glad you’re feeling better!

I'm so glad that you are better. That's great news. Enjoy your time out in the world again.

Aww, thank you Bob! You do the best cards! :hugs Unfortunately I haven’t done Chrissy cards for years but I wanted to thank you for yours.

Santa’s looking very stylish in his convertible and with his accessory chicken! 😂
Santa needs help delivering all those presents. Who better to help this year than Lady Featherington?
