MJ's little flock

My first weekend breakfast without eggs in years 😢

😂🤣

Ordinarily I'd go straight to one of the local cafes, but I had some bacon and mushrooms to use up.

Katie's medication finished yesterday. She seems improved but not 100% her usual bouncy self. It's possible she sustained some muscle damage struggling against my efforts to put her tablets in her beak - which was necessary as she wasn't eating at all. I'll keep her under watch and will take her for a follow up if she remains a little sluggish.

@RoyalChick I was thinking about the mosquito situation (which is declining now Winter is approaching). I bought some mosquito coils that came with a chicken-proof container as evidently the solar powered bug zapper was inadequate. It'll be a long time before I know whether the coils are adequate. I'm also worried about respiratory disorders from the smoke coming off the coils, but then it is outdoors and ventilated, so maybe they'll be ok?

Is she eating again now ?
It's also possible that the antibiotics makes her tired for a while.
I hope she recovers.

She's eating quite well but not with gusto. And she still has loose poop.

It was a narrow-spectrum antibiotic so she still has all her good bacteria.

That said, I'm not thrilled with her progress, so I'm going to take her for a follow up which I hope will include images, but of course I'll be guided by Dr Jing in that. I haven't made her appointment yet, but I will today.
