Hopefully she'll be up first thing in the morning.

When I peeked at her she was organising her eggs. Very cute!

I loved watching them go about their business if hatching eggs. They actually are quite busy at times.

Mary's up, so I've taken the opportunity to check the eggs. 1, 2, 3... Where's 4? Rummage. Where's 4? 4 had rolled down the ramp overnight and gone cold.

There's no way of knowing whether it was accidental or deliberate. So I've added it to the clutch. It was CO egg A. CO B & C and the Welsummer egg are ok.

Anyway, I've moved all the eggs right over the other side in the hope of preventing accidental roll outs.

I'll take a second look at the sliding door too. Maybe I should be using it.

She was talking to the eggs too, very softly, but I heard her.

If she parks herself at the top of the ramp again, I think I'll tickle her tail until she moves herself and her eggs further in.

Or I could staple a cardboard fence across the doorway but I don't want Mary tripping over at the top of the ramp.

Ok, she's gone back to the nest and sat on the eggs where I'd put them. Here she is through the side door's window.

I'll check again later.

I have no clue how long egg A had been cold for, so I can't know whether it will be ok. It may end up in the bin in the long run.

I'm glad I took the decision to give Mary eggs.

Although she's an elderly first time mother, she seems to be very comfortable and even enjoying herself.

Good idea. She won’t trip over it if you don’t make it very high. She’s a chicken not a clumsy human.
