MJ's little flock

Sometimes it can be enough to know we made their days as joyous as they could be even if there were not enough of them. :hugs:hugs:hugs
Well, she had some joy until the disease progressed to causing discomfort.

I'm almost certain she has tumours obstructing her digestion. Her crop doesn't empty. Her poops are tiny and watery.

Very sad. Just very sad. 😥

Melissa says she doesn't need a silly test because she's already got clever clogs status.

True, but it's not that kind of test.

Melissa was put on her back to take the sample for testing and it was amazing to watch her pupils dilating and constricting.

I felt for her of course. But Dr Mark and his vet nurse are extremely skilled so it didn't take long. She didn't struggle.

All lined up, oldest to youngest with 2 years between each hen.

Mary is 6-7 years old, Peggy 4-5, Katie 2-3, and Melissa will be 1 on November 3.

It's roughly x10 to get a chicken's age expressed in human years, right? So Mary is 60-70.

They like sitting near my seat at the end of a day, little sweethearts. Hopefully in a few months Sarah will have joined the line up. And 24-25 will go down as the white generation.
