MJ's little flock

Just got Melissa's results. Negative! From this I'm concluding the older hens also do not have Marek's or they would have passed it to Melissa by now. But I can't pin Edie, Erica or Ivy's deaths on Marek's. That's ok.

Sarah's going in for her test Monday morning.
I'm glad to hear that the older hens are mareks free. This is the perfect case study for proper quarantine. Perhaps a short article is order to encourage other chicken stewards to quarantine as well is in order? What do you think?

This whole episode has been very grim.
Marek's is that kind of disease. At least you protected the others. You also gave these three the best life possible for the time they had/have.

It's been very hard on you but you have done a great thing for them. Try to remember that. :hugs :hugs :hugs

It's such a relief. I would hate to think of them struggling with Marek's.

I don't have much spare time just now but maybe I could write it in summer.

It's been hard going for a quite a few months Bob. I need a year or so without too many surprises from the flock.

It may seem crazy but I think maybe Sarah's test will be negative too. She's just so healthy.
