I'm trying not to get attached in case one or more of them don't make it. Trying, and mostly failing.

How could you ever hope to not get attached? Simply unrealistic. Just look at them.

I wasn't going to name them until they started laying. That resolution lasted about a day.

I’ve just put the girls in the laundry, in a cage with wet towels on top and a fan blowing gently on them. They have iced water, some oats and sunflower seeds, and a bit of straw in case Princess wants to lay. It’s cooler in there and it cracked 41C (105.8F) today.

This morning I picked up the memento I ordered when Mary went for cremation.

It's a glass paperweight with her ashes in it. I asked for a black swirl with a little green. I think the glass artist did a great job.
