37°C today. Hens and chicks are free to roam where they wish. The hose is trickling under the shady tree for the hens.

Hoping the chicks will be ok. I'll put out iced water at regular intervals.

The last time they had temps this high, they were inside where the AC could reach them.

This morning the hens and chicks were mingling from wake up and the first thing the chicks learnt was how to pull seeds from a sunflower.

Did they figure that out on their own or did someone show them?

The chicks were out of the run for most of the day, with the run left open so they go back in if they wanted to. Which they did, a few times. At 3.30pm I was tired of feeling worried about them, so when they next went inside, I closed the run after them. But, they had a great day and seem to have navigated most of the chicken run vicinity without too many problems.

They are growing up quickly. Look at their world expanding.
