Another update!

Egg sales!! Just sold three dozen.



Bronco is filling in nicely. He is starting to look manly!

Its hard to get a good picture off him, he is really hyper!

Marius is king of the flock.







Molting is starting. lol

This one is molting the worst right now.



The plan for the near future:
I have a general plan for this winter/spring. This winter will be pretty low key. No hatches, No new birds, and probably no selling of birds. The only thing I'm going to do is sell eggs. In the spring, it will be a different story. I'll sell most of my birds to the auction, except my Faverolles and a few Barred Rock pullets. Then I'll get new birds, but not just any birds. I'm going HERITAGE! No hatchery birds and no cross breeds. I'm thinking Wyandottes, Orpingtons, Chanteclers, or something along those lines.

Then I'll breed big time (hopefully).


This is just what I'm thinking about, not necessarily what is going to happen. Please leave comments.

How exciting!! I have thought of doing that too! Can wait to hear how things go for you. Wish we could skip winter, and go right to spring

I know, they don't even lay very well in winter, unless you get the lighting just right.

Yeah, for showing...would you use the birds for fitting and showing? In that case bantams would be best. When your doing breeding are you looking to help a rare breed?

I don't want bantams. In my opinion I think LF is better for showing because everyone uses bantams for shows. Besides, I love LF. The bigger the better. Lol I would take rare breeds but it really doesn't matter. I do have money for rare birds though so I'd take it.

Oh and I forgot, I want to get some Sussex too.

So yeah,

Bantams are much easier to show tho. Handling big birds the way you do when showing when having small hands is extremely difficult. I gtg,
