I KWYM about wheelbarrows full of leaves!!!
I have to keep adding leaves to the litter in the hen house. Right now I'm waiting on the leaves to dry, but that won't happen in the rain we're having off and on today. And the over cast sky makes drying take even longer!!! Humph!
I'm glad you have dry leaves for your run!!! =)

Haha! Not dry anymore. It is raining pretty hard here and everything is soaked! The leaves are helping but they will soon turn into mush at this rate. lol I didn't let the chickens out today because I have faverolles and their beards and feathered feet get SO dirty!

Yeah. I hate the rain getting everything wet. Sometimes I think that snow would be better b/c it doesn't get wet until it melts, but then I think about how cold it has to be to snow and then when it melts it's like a lot of rain all at once, so... You can keep the snow as far as I'm concerned. lol

Yeah, my Bantam Cochin is usually so clean I can't get a decent picture of her, but today, even she's a little gray-ish. =(

Yeah.

Oh man. Its dark and rainy out, that equals dreary day. =(

My DH likes those dreary days. Autumn is his favorite season and he's from New England; it's always dreary there in the autumn. lol
I don't like them. I like the bright sunny winter days (then I can try to absorb some warmth from the sun!!! =D
It was dreary and rainy yesterday.

Yeah those days are good. =)
Same weather here too.

Today I sent my Barred Plymouth Rock cockerel (Bronco) to the auction. He was getting to loud and rough for my liking. And so, my line of Barred Plymouth Rocks has ended.

To be honest, I'm not really sad at all. lol All the males in my Barred rock line were jerks.

Oh, I am sorry to hear you aren't breeding Barred Rocks anymore. (that would sound funny to anyone who doesn't speak chicken; I'm not breeding stripey pet rocks any longer, I just sold my last male.)

But we mustn't keep or breed the jerks!!! I don't think that all chicken breeds should eat out of ppl's hands, but they should all be trainable to the point of civility.

I really like Silver Laced, Golden Laced, Partridge, and Silver Penciled Wyandottes. I don't know what I'll end up with though. Whatever I can find I guess. :)

Today we got planning for this springs chicks and stuff. But I am going to keep details secret until we are actually going to go for it and besides its a few months off, and I want to have suspense running throughout this thread.

I put tons of leaves in the run to help with the big mud puddles we have been having lately. It was a lot of work but its doing its job so far, and the chickens love going through the big piles of leaves finding bugs and stuff. It was worth doing even though my back is hurting because of all the wheelbarrow loads I did.
