You kind of free range, right? You might think about keeping them in the run for a few days if you think they might already be laying.
You can tell by their pelvic bone. Find it just below their vent, when the two "prongs" of the pelvic bone have spread enough to fit two fingers between them, they're laying or about to start (like a week or less). Once they're laying large size eggs, their pelvic bone will be about three finger widths apart.
I have a run. Yeah I know there are ways to check but I think I will just wait and have it happen so it is a surprise. =)
