This is getting old. Trust me, folks, out of three orders from MM I have not gotten a single rare or exotic, I got FREE. I am not complaining. I would be unhappy to get say, a Phoenix or a Red Cap or some other breed that would not serve a purpose in my flock. I have gotten extras sent (Packing Peanuts, if you will) that turned out to be pullets, I have gotten extra boys stuck in with breeds I did order both genders of. However, I have posted this to many threads where people are trying to figure out which "RARE" chick they have, and they are not going to find them in that section of the catalog. They send you a FREE chick upon request. It may or may not be rare or exotic. It may or may not be a roo. It is FREE. I got as my free chicks an EE that turned out to be a gorgeous rooster and would have stayed until his dying day, was doing an excellent job with my ladies until my puppies got him and all of the ladies in with him. I have 3 of his chicks in the brooder and I really miss him. The second one was a Red Star pullet, she was also quite welcome in my flock, but there again, puppy attack. My most recent freebie looks like a Golden Laced Bantam Cochin, and I am thrilled even if it is a boy (which I think it is). I debate about marking the "I want a free chick" box because I do not want something exotic just because it is that, I want some function in my flock. So, if your heart is set on getting a rare or exotic, ORDER ONE, folks.
