Tara what a great setup you have for the quail, where did you get those cages? I love them!!!

They're the stacking cages PetCo uses for their bird display. There was another set on CList recently from a lady in Blaine, but they were only 2x2 and mine are 3x2. As you can see, they take up a huge part of the living room wall. I had the quail in Havahart rabbit cages, but they just looked ugly. The cage I have for the Seramas is a Kennel-Aire dog crate with 1x1" bar spacing and is about 4'x2.5' but that's only temporary - it was free, but it's black and doesn't match the other cages and that just bugs me.

I'm getting stacking finch aviaries for the button quail next. I had to move them out of the living room because they're all in mismatched cages and it just .. bugs me

If all goes well, I'll be able to pick up the chickies tomorrow night. I'm taking my car in and renting a car for the day.

Your little peaches comb is getting aweful red and she expressed interest in the older boys today so she just may start laying soon for you.
 
So that's what all you guys look like! You sure look like nice people, even though you have such bizarre hobbies (mini rockstar not included). I have so many relatives near there - Fridley, Chanhassen, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Marine-on-St.Croix. You'd think I could come with an excuse to visit them! When's your next meetup? (Or have the local police forbidden it?)
 
I want to say how much fun I had meeting you all on Sat. Ive been telling everyone how nice chicken people are and you are all even more awesome in person!

Spooky - Many many thanks for your gracious hospitality! I know it is alot of extra work and it is very much appreciated! What fun! Especially enjoyed seeing your quail setup. Hadn't ever seen any before and Im thinking I might have to add some of those cuties!

All Chook Up - Thanks for posting the pics. Ive been trying to keep everyone straight in my head and a pictorial definitely helps! Too bad we didn't get the cameras going before some people left.

Anyway for me it was well worth the trip even with 11 cars in the ditch on the way down! Only counted 3 on the way home yesterday! Looking forward to the next get together!
