There is a chance I'm allergic according to a nurse, last time I was stung about 10years ago. SO NOW I have a real issue here. In ground nest up against a raised bed. I had a pile of branches next to it that I've been slowly, carefully removing so that I can totally expose the in-ground hole to then dump a big pile of dirt and rocks to suffocate them. I'm not opposed to nuking the little a holes too because I just got stung 4 times and when I ran screaming into the house I had to lock one that was on me in the laundry room. UGH. I took 2 Clariton and I don't seem to be reacting to bad. What would you do to get rid of them?? Watching some of the fails on You Tube is fun but I need to be serious now.

If you are allergic then get a professional in to do it for you.
There are loads of DIY methods - I use different ones depending on the situation - but they all have a fail rate.

wasp killer spray, or spray on foam, is what I would use. wait until night when they're all in there and spray the area down. If you know where the entrance is get that with the spray.

Though maybe you don't want that next to your garden.

The directions say to rinse any desirable vegetation with water.

A quick makeshift bee net hood you could use a mesh bag over your head, like one of these:

I think there are some at grocery stores now too called fruit bags. So long as you can see through it and it fits over you head. Then wear a hoodie, and some work gloves and you should be safe from more stings.

Good call, I was just looking around for what to suit up in tonight. But now I can't get to my car in the garage because I'm afraid of the yellow jacket in the laundry room. I read that it might be dead in 2 days but not sure I can wait that long. Gawd I hate these things. And I can co-exist all day in my garden around honey bees, but yellow jackets scare the crap out of me. I was being way to confident because branch removal was going good. My bad!

I was just reading that same thing! I may have to resort to this. I know they'll just die in winter but my friend who is a bee-keeper told me to get rid of them because their eggs will hatch in spring.

for the single one, you could try the same outfit with out the net hood, and hunt it down with a fly swatter

Thanks. I feel ridiculous since I'm usually quite fearless but I'm for sure going to have several layers on. Also I like how my friends that I've been texting just care about me taking a selfie before I go in the laundry room
