This is my first post and first attempt at a chicken ark. Took a lot of ideas off of this forum and other internet sites in it's design. The first 4 pictures are of work in progress before the addition of the wiring, roof and final details. We took every precaution to try to make the ark predator proof including the addition of a single strand electrified wire. The overall dimensions of the coup and run is 4' X 8'. The coup alone is 4' X 4'. So far our 4 girls (Australorp) seem to like it, having spent their first evening in the ark last night. Our plan is to move the ark on a daily basis making use of the oversized wheels. The 4 smaller wheels assist in movement but are primarily there to keep the wood from direct soil contact. Approximate cost was around $250.

Nice setup. What's your power source for the electric line? Did you buy it as a set?

Regular 110 from an outside receptable. No, I bought the controller, insulators and wire individually from TSC. I use the same type controller for my garden. We live in an area with lots of predators and foragers.
