Mobile Bird Nest

Yay! I love a happy ending!

A couple were getting pretty weak.. It's going to be a lot of work. Nancy is a good person.. I think she will do the best she can.

An hour ago we passed off the nest to a neighbor whom breeds and raises exotic birds and such. She is better suited for this great responsibility. It was suggested by her as well when I asked her for advise. She said she would be happy to care for them having been successful many times in the past. What a relief on our end. I will check in on them from time to time but give her full credit for saving them of course.

Alls well that ends well! Hopefully. Your lucky to have a neighbour like that. Do you know what birds they are?

"Breed", Not really.. But one passed away.. She told me a half hour ago.. It is a constant feeding frenzy.
Wild birds are dedicating every second of their lives gathering food for their offspring. It really is a miracle of life.
What we take for granted continuously. Having a Burger King drive thru on every corner and still complaining how long it takes minutes for them to serve us, while nature's little creature's are fighting the odds and scouring for food every second of day light just to keep their young alive.
Humans have it real good! Even though we have to wait in line for 5 mins,
I think that is a fair sacrifice.

Your quite right. I think humans have evolved to be consumers and have forgotten the basic principle of life. That is to live.

Great! Sorry one has passed away however. These wild birds are extremely delicate, not at all like hatching poultry. If things are not done exactly as their wild momma would do, they don't make it. I wish your neighbor luck and thanks for sharing all this Connie!

It's just things like this open my eyes and mind to how fragile life is all around us. Humans are the same really. Someone always has a worse than mine when I think I've got it so tough. If I break a leg, there is always going to be people without legs. The little tiny creatures use the "jaws of life" to pry my heart wide open. Kind of like a revelation to become a little more aware to be humble with the cards that have been dealt to me.

Great! Sorry one has passed away however. These wild birds are extremely delicate, not at all like hatching poultry. If things are not done exactly as their wild momma would do, they don't make it. I wish your neighbor luck and thanks for sharing all this Connie!

Thx, I kinda saw that one as being the weakest. It was being trampled during my feeding sessions. It also had the least amount of feathering. They might of went from feeding for awhile before I discovered the nest. That truck has been all over heck and back since they hatched.

DH suggested that the mother may have went for a ride with the offspring and once parked else where, she went off for food only to discover her mobile bird nest went mobile again. She might be 20 miles away from here where we parked, still looking and listening for her little churpers. sad..

I always feel deeply for wild birds too, when they struggle, so do I. Anything with feathers burrows deeply into my heart.

At least you found them and did what you could. I hate it when I see a dead chick on the ground by its nest. I never know how it's happened it does make me sad. Nature can be so overlooked by people but without it there is no us. We all have a place. (apart from rats and mosquitoes!)

Well, I hate mosquitoes too, but they do feed bats and rats feed a lot of things. At least that is one way of looking at it.
