Hi,
I may have missed something, but I was wondering if there was a way to set up space on this website or on the forum where we could keep a list of people who have eggs, etc. to sell/swap with other members? I know we have the "Buy, Sell. . ." area, but it seems like we need a simple place to go to get names, contact info, and breeds for members who are interested in participating. Aran started a post on the subject, but a post would be too cumbersome to find the info on. It seems like there are tons of members who would like to participate in swapping, etc.

What do you think?

Coudn't you just use the search function and type in the breed as the keyword and set it for buy/sell/trade?

Maybe I'm missing something here.

Thanks for the suggestion. We've found the "Buy/Sell/Trade" section of the site to be very effective in helping people spread the word about current offerings. Sellers come and go and BYC remains an independent third party which makes the forum section perfect for the majority of situations.

Again, I want to emphasize that BYC does not promote any sellers and is not liable or responsible for any of the transactions made between members of the site. We encourage all buyers to be very careful when making any transactions with people they don't know.

Skeeter... what you could do... is get a free site some where and add people who would like to be on that list. You could ask them before-hand and see what they say. Then post what ever they would like to see on that list. Put it on a nice looking page and have the link on your signature. You could also add their link to their eggs and or chicken business as well. Just put up a poll and see what happens.

Thats the only way I think that would work here...

Skeeter - I understand what you are saying... sometimes it is hard with the posts... going through them all.... I know that someone has started a list with all the breeds... not sure if she added what they sell or not. She posted a comment about it under the post your mentioned. She/he might be able to help

I was just thinking of a way to organize all of us who are willing to sell/swap with each other so that we'd have a place to easily look up who has what breeds so we could contact them via email for swapping/selling purposes. That way we could deal with people we kinda know. The Buy/Sell/Trade area is great, but say I am trying to find some Welsummer eggs, and no one has Welsummer eggs currently posted on the Buy/Sell/Trade area, I could go to the list and look under Welsummer to see who I could contact and email them to find out if they are interested. It just seem like a lot of us responded to Aran's post that we were interested in swapping/selling to each other and this would be any easy way to organize it????

Moderators, is this against the rules of the site? I'm a little confused. . . .

I think that's a good idea!

If it was more structured (i.e. Two input boxes: where they are, and what they have (or could have) available) than the normal forums, I think it would be really useful. Kind of like a classifieds page.
