Modern game bantams...

Heh. I already did! Although, my mom would probably not mind since she is stuck on them, especially the Modern.

Good luck on your showing. If you're not careful, you'll get hooked on it and end up with a lot more chickens!

I just got some MGB eggs off e-bay, days ago. Since I live in the city and only allowed one rooster and I end up with more than one, how much do I sell the roosters for? Whats the rate for these little guys? -- Yvette

Well, if they aren't show birds, then it's pretty much up to you and what you think you can get. I have sold my extras pretty cheap just to be sure they have a home to go to.

I have a Maisey too!!!!!!

Cook hamburger and put it above their head so they have to reach but not jump.in small pieces and when they pose feed them a small piece. Just continue to do that it doesnt take very long. If your lucky you get some of these ham chickens that every time they see a camera they stop and pose for it. LOL

Ugh. Does anybody have any advice for teaching your Modern how to pose? Because Maisy won't 'raise' herself. :/

Like tiki said, get some treats and hold them up in front of her so that she has to reach up to get it. What works well for me is the soft Kibble type dog food. I've had folks on here blast me for suggesting dog food, but I don't give them a lot of it, just enough to train them. Some of the top Modern breeders use it as well.

Most Moderns will learn to pose quickly. I did have one pullet that just never would do it and some roosters are too skittish. But, the majority of them will. Good luck!

Well, you definetly use interesting treats LOL

Ayokay. I tried using bread, but she would just look up at it and when it went eye level, she would peck it right out of my hand.

Heh. I was kind of hoping that the other Modern that i am getting (sad story. When I called to schedule a pick up later in the day with Mr. Stallings, I found that Maisy's sister died due to an egg malfunction. Poor little bird. But Mr. Stallings is going to get me another Modern from the breeder that he got the sisters from.) would be trained to do it already.

Thanks for the advice. I really do appreciate it!
