I just saw this thread and wanted to chime in.... I think most people here have felt exactly like you are feeling. I sure did and sometimes still do.

It's kinda funny that I would take it personally when only one or two people respond to a question I ask. I try to look at it from the perspective... if one person responded and I got a 'good' answer, nobody else needs to respond. I do like it when a couple of people agree on an answer though. I guess I need that affirmation; even from people I've never met.

I do believe that's because I genuinely feel that I have real friends here and that's because BYC is made up of some really awesome people who really do care and they love chickens to boot!

I don't think anyone is ever ignored... just overlooked due to the incredibly high volume of threads.

Thank everyone for their response. Please don't think I have anything against PC. I really think he is a great guy and I DO HAVE great respect for him.

I have had such a horrible summer, I've over half of my chickens due to predators. My mom has had double pneumonia, septic and 2 strokes. My dad has had many little strokes this summer so my siblings and I have had to take turns stays at the hospital and with my dad. I have been diagnosed with Rheumatiod Artheritis, diabetes, and thyroid problems.

So for the one that thinks I'm whining....I could have done A LOT of whining this summer but I've not bothered people with my problems.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone.

I just hate that you have to have a certain personality for people to like you where even I might not be a big cut-up. I have a huge heart and anyone who knows me personally knows I will walk across hot coals for someone. I was a computer lab teacher/In School Suspension Supervisor and all 700 students know that I love each one of them individually can call them by name at any given time. Anytime I ran into them at Walmart or something I made sure I remembered them and always had something positive to say to their parents. Sometimes it was they have the biggest smile, I wanted their parents to know their child was special at school. So I'm not a selfish person.

I've been wanting to post a question asking what makes people respond to a post. I've seen where I ask a question, and get 1 response, then an hour later someone else asks almost the same question and gets 40 responses.
I know I have seen posts I would like to respond to, but I don't. Either I just don't have enough knowledge, or there are so many other responses, mine won't add anything to it. I know how I feel when my posts get little or no response, and I'm sure many people feel the same way.
I don't think it has to do with our smell, though. We all smell like chickens !
