Don't get too worried about it; sometimes, you'll post something and just never get a response. I think it probably happens to everyone once in a while.

Some tips to get better responses are (and these are tips to ANYONE, not you personally):

(1) Make the subject of your post specific so people know what you need.

(2) Break up your post into easily-read paragraphs.

(3) Use decent grammar, sentence structure and spelling so people understand you.

(4) If it's THAT urgent, call a vet. Patience works wonders.

(5) Respond to reponses in your posts. People like it when you answer back or thank them for advice.

Ok, if I can do this fast I may be #166. LOL What I don't like is answering something and I'm the last one to say anything. I think they are saying ok ginbart said something what does she know.

Sad part is I don't know nothing. I feel so bad when that happens. But an hour later I'm back again.

I love this place. Now I hope someone else comes after me. If not I'm so sorry.

The1much you are right, use the search feature. Just think about it....everybody using the search feature. Cuz you know as well as I do that almost everybody here has posted an answer to a problem. In other words, there probably isnt much that hasnt been posted on here. So if we all use the search.....it would be a blessedly quiet place. So quiet that....you might get bored, because no one is on here because no one is needed. Why bother when all you have to do is use the search?

Well, you can always search and continue the discussion in the original topic. That way, the wealth of knowledge remains in the same place.

Also, the OP was wanting to know why no one might be answering her posts right away. One suggestion was made that sometimes it gets boring answering the same exact question every single day. Not everyone is going to pounce on the same question, especially if it's a pretty simple one to find an answer to if someone took the time to search.

For example, "When will my hen start laying eggs?" That one shows up on here at least three or four times a week.

Using the search wouldn't destroy the conversation. Instead, it would cut down on the routine questions and answers. The conversation would probably evolve to more interesting and creative subject manner (such as what happens in the coop construction area). Searching would not reduce people's desire to connect via BYC.
