"I'm a year and three months." He pulled grass and hesitated before he said the next thing. "How old do fillies have to be... before they can have foals?"

"I can now..." Layla replied, with a mix of happy, and shy emotions.

Holly, with Fin and Foxtooth, begin barking wildly around the mens' heels.

Rufus didn't know what to think. He opened his mouth several times, but nothing came out. Finally: "Wow," he croaked. "That's... nice, Layla.."
