Levi drank from the stream, but as he was raising his head to look around him, he heard a sudden yowl and a sharp pain on his back. A creature, as big as a mare and as yellow and tawny as Flip, was clinging to him. Neighing and bucking in fear, Levi fled toward the herd. The huge predator behind him raced behind, clawing and scratching at Levi's flesh, the smell of blood egging him on.

Twilight suddenly jumped at the loud yell. "What was that? Jet, I think somebodys in trouble!"

FireShadow watched RedWinds shape move through the grass, not too far away from the herd. "She really did mean it." He said to himself. "Flip's not going to like this."
When Fire got to the bottom of the hill he found Flip to tell him the news. "Uh, Flip, Red's kind of left the herd. She wanted to start her own herd without stallions. I tried to stop her, but she left anyway."
