"Breech... foal..." the mare wailed, collapsing in a heap. She strained her muscles and moaned again.

"Oh dear, can we get you anything?!" Sienna exclaimed.

The mare lay suddenly still.
"Water," she croaked.
Her brown-and-white body was lathered in sweat.

Shadow trotted back to Sienna with a mouth full of water. "Here", Shadow said, as she gave the water to the mare.

*Sienna cantered off, as quickly as she could without straining her leg. She returned with water and set it near the Mare's head.* "Shadow, I don't know what to do! Jingo knows how to deliver foals, but she is gone!" Sienna cried.

"I did this once... The twolegs were gone, and I had to. I will deliver this one!"

The mare looked up after drinking the water. "Thank you...." she whispered, then her bleary eyes looked closer. "You are foaling?" she inquired. She was obviously slightly delirious and her body burned from fever.

"Oh boy Shadow. I hope so. She is burning up!" Sienna cried as she splashed water on her.
