The mare remained motionless and the foal wiggled inside her body. His feet were still encased in the sac, but he kicked anyway. His efforts were visible inside the mares body, as a slight hoof mark could be seen pressing on the wall of her stomach.

Shadow pulled the rest of the foal out. "There you go buddy!"

"Shadow, that foal is going to die if we don't get it out right now!" Sienna said urgently.

Sienna continued splashing water on the mare, while shaking her., "Shadow, this isn't good! That foal needs a Mom, and milk!"

He kicked a hole in the sac and the blood vessels in it burst, streaking his wet baby fur with red. Then, struggling out of the rest of it, he waited for Shadow to lick him clean and tried to walk toward her teats.

"Oh!" Shadow started licking the foal. "Sienna, keep doing that, I've got to lick him clean!"

"WAKE UP!" Sienna bellowed in the mare's ear, while shaking and dumping water on her.
