Mold in my water with ACV?

I add ACV my hens' old chick waterer, and use regular water in the main metal adult waterer. My hens will use the old plastic waterer with ACV in the morning and night, as it is located closer to the coop, and it stays relatively clean when kept on top of bricks. Cleaned out once a week, it has been mold free. Hope this is helpful

I noticed mold growing in my water jug that I keep in the house for my daughter to fill the chicks water container with. I keep a 1 gallon container on my counter and I add a tablespoon of Braggs ACV. and keep it ready for her to refill. Has anyone else had mold grow in their waterers when using ACV? I'm kinda concerned now about putting it in my big automatic waterer with the nipples if it will grow mold. What are your thoughts?

Black mold in ACV waterers! If you are adding ACV to your waterer you will get mold by virtue of the sugar content.
Put ACV water in a glass dish separate from 3-5 gal. waterer. Really, there is no need for anything more than 3 gals. of water, unless you have many chickens to water, as you must even with plain water, wash and clean the the container weekly, lest you get mold build up, it is NOT in a sterile environment. I use a mild bleach solution to soak and clean the container every week, just be EXTRA certain to rinse, re-rinse, and rinse again, before final filling, you don't want your girls drinking bleach water. And by the way, even with my methods, mold will start to grow after a week or longer in a plastic container.
