Recently there has been a mold outbreak in my tank. At first I thought the java moss that died in my tank was growing back, but black like fuzz has been growing on surrounding plants and little lines of mold has started to grow. What should I do?

Thank you for your replies! It is algae, I’m new to fishkeeping so I didn’t know. We have bought a algae eater and two algae shrimp, who are slowly chowing away at their wide selection of algae

You might also want to reduce the amount of artificial light in your tank until the algae is under control.
Also, if your tank is by a window and getting natural light, you may want to shade/move it.
The days are getting longer and the outside light can have an effect on algae growth.
Algae needs light to grow, so if you limit the light it's getting for a short period, it may
die back and make it easier to control.
I've had my tank for 10 yrs. and only had one algae outbreak and that was because I left the light on for too many hours a day.

Algae eaters generally aren't a good solution to algae ironically enough. It's generally light or the parameters, what are your parameters and how long is the light on during the day? Is the tank by any windows? And did you get an otocinclus?
