Dust or called mash feed is what some people prefer. A starter feed is all you need Bigmomma, I read your post on the bully bird keeping the others from the feeder. You shouldn't add anything else to their diet and just allow them to gain size with the chick starter. They will catch up to normal growth eventually. What you have are layers and will be almost grossly skinny compared to the meat birds you are accustomed too seeing. That is normal for them and good for you as they wont eat as much and give you more eggs. That's a good thing.
