Moles and chickens

Goodness those are some tough moles ! I used to use these peanuts on the moles i think they were called gopher peanuts, basically just poison peanuts and they worked well...but that was before chickens with a real taste for peanuts.
I'm in Canada....Seriously traps were all that works...His Old brother trapped and got $5 each...I just trapped and left for coyotes or what ever to eat them...

I struggle with voles and prairie dogs, they dig into the coop, eat the chicken feed. I try and remove the feed at night to at least eliminate that temptation and hope the chickens will eat them or scare them off during the day. I eventually brought home a free cat from craigslist who manages to catch one just about every time he goes outside. I know this might not be the answer you are looking for, but my mouser has proven to be a good investment. We were skeptical at first, but didn't know what else to do. I am following this thread because come spring I'm sure we'll have a whole new crop of critters to contend with and I doubt the cat will completely keep up.

Okay this is for people who have no issue "whacking" the moles.
Had a neighbor, old guy, would sit on his porch and wait to see them moving/pushing up the sod, then he'd walk out with a weed prong and stab them right thru the sod, then he'd just stamp down the tunnel and corpse. Not that's whack a mole!

most mammals do not like red pepper... they sell $$$ red pepper to put in bird seed to keep the squirrels away.. I use spice red pepper (cayenne) much cheaper
