I have seen the threads about molting chickens, but here's my question... We have several hens molting, in my opinion, moderately. This is the first time we've had them molt. It is before the worst of the cold sets in, but we're supposed to have temps with heavy frost tonight, will they stay warm enough about 1/3 bald?

So long as your coop doesn't have bad drafts they should be fine. We've had several frosts already and half of the birds in each of my flocks are molting. Mother Nature knows what she's doing and I've learned not to second guess her where my chickens are concerned. [IMG]

I also have a girl molting. As long as she has a couple chickens to cuddle with, with a non draft coop, she should be fine. Although, my Angela gets her barn blankie on nights below 30!
