Molting questions

No it isn't, typically (there are some breed exceptions) you won't see a molt until the birds 2nd fall-or around 18 months.
Oh wow WIchick! Glad you seen my questions and answered! Heres another question; is there anything i can/should do to prepare? We live in New England and it gets COLd come Mid October. Thanks again. I hope your flock is thriving 🐓❤️

Chickens are pretty cold tolerant, and they don't (generally) go bald when they molt, except in hard molts. Higher protein feeds (around 20%) help them speed thru molt, as feathers are mostly proteins. Otherwise, its the same things you already do - provide them a dry, well ventilated, not drafty place to shelter.
