I have 5 hens. They began molting in March. They lost all feathers underneath where their vent is and a couple have lost feathers on top. I got rid of the only rooster we had due to him getting on them too much. I was told I didn't have enough to service him. They have just recently grown some little turfs of feathers, but only a few spots. How long does it take for hens that have molted to grow feathers? I have them on high protein food, maintain fresh water in the chicken run, and have oysters shells for them to eat also.

Where are you located? In the northern hemisphere birds don't molt until fall. Sounds more like feather loss. Expect new feathers during the actual molt.
