Molting

Hi! I was wondering if it's possible for a hen to molt before 1 year? Our Cuckoo Maran has some spots where it looks like new feathers are coming in, and when I was inspecting them I didn't notice any spots that looked like she may be being picked on or anything. She's the only one who seems to have any spots like this though. She's about 10 months old.

Some people do have chickens that can molt that early especially in winter months. Do you have any pictures? Could the other chickens be pecking out feathers? What do you feed? How many chickens do you have in how much room?

Some chickens can molt under a year old.
Do you have any pictures of the areas that are missing feathers?

My poor Welsummer girl looks so pitiful. She's 11 months old. She skipped the 9-month mini-molt like several other breeds I brought home with her.
