Molting?

More likely to be picking.
9 mo is not a usual time to be molting.
Tho sometimes they have a soft molt around that age, but it's usually around the neck first.

What all and how exactly are you feeding?
How big is the coop and run, in feet by feet, for how many birds??

They look hot?
Oh and..... Welcome to BYC! @PapaChick3n
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

We feed them a mixer of cracked corn and 16% layered feed, their space is 30×24, we are located in sw Virginia, and they were hot because it's been hot lately, we have 11 chickens and a rooster. The rest of them are fine so I wouldn't think it's the food.
