How long does a chicken molt for?I live in N.E. Ohio.
They are approx. 2yrs old.I don't know the breed if that matters.
When will they start laying again after they molt?

Thanks for all reply's

Have read that calf-manna is good to help them grow new feathers and maybe kick-start them again after molting. It has high protein content. Black sunflower seeds do too.

Yes, they'll start laying again after they molt though not necessarily immediately (their bodies also need a rest from egg laying during the 'shorter' days of the year). It can take time to recover from the physically trying experience of molting. Great nutrition helps.
