MOLTING

dont know if i am putting this in the right place but, i knew it wasnt a sickness so here it goes. two of my girls are slightly molting. they havent lost alot of feathers one has lost alot on her tummy and rear end. will this be a problem with cold weather coming on? i live in alabama.

They should be ok, but if you're a bit worried, there are things you can do to help keep them warm at night. If you give them scratch, or bird seed before bed, they will produce heat by digesting the food while asleep. Things like corn are good for this too. Also, you can add wood shavings to the coop to help insulate it and keep it warmer for them. Hope this helps

Good to know this is the first time I have experienced molting and my kids were worried she would get cold at night (my oldest is the only one molting)
