Momma did WHAT??????

Well, I bet you're excited. I sat and counted the days (actually the hours and the days) till I got my chicks! XD Then I had the brooder set up three days early! Are you gonna do the same thing you did with the Fab Five? I LOVED reading that thread!

Yup, that right there's true. I was actually seriously considering breeding Easter Eggers, since they seem to be good kids pets. If I do, I'm totally getting some from Meyer Hatchery. They're the best hatchery, IMHO.

Haha, I have gotten chicks from a sleezy person like that; and I wasn't the oly one who bought chicks and got all cockerels. What are the odds that five different people would buy 3 week old chicks and get all cockerels?

 I'm too busy to count the hours. But I've had my brooder set up since February. :D

Yeah, it's amazing sometimes. My mom and I went to a swap meet (a while ago, 'cause I will no longer go to those, they make me sad) and there was a guy with a bunch of barred rock cockerels in a pen that was labelled pullets. And I'm talking cockerels with saddle and sickle feathers in, massive combs and wattles, spurs starting to grow in, the whole works.

A place of mostly poultry people who are bound to know the difference between cockerel and pullets, and he's selling "pullets"... what kind of idiot did he take everyone for? LOL!

No wonder I am too scared to go to the swaps! I would have opened my mouth big time at that guy.

Daddas1, yup, like fan said, she's a White Sultan named Victoria.

PRETTY SURE she is a SHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99.9999999%%% sure now. There's no red or even pink comb and she's 10 weeks now!!! I love her so much. She had her second day outside in the coop and when I walk in she jumps on my shoe and sits down and wants me to pick her up. I am thinking she may be a little 'Derpy'.

I thought we'd decided it was Victoria for sure! :D :celebrate

Yeah, I'm not sure what the guy was thinking, 'cause I think everyone there had at least a base knowledge of chickens--that's what they came for.

After getting my silver Sebrights from a swap, I just can't stand to go to them anymore. :( I mean, I'm sure for most of those birds, their cages are temporary for the swap, but I just know by the way they behaved that my little silvers had never touched the ground, let alone had that much space, before I got them. I don't like it one bit.

It's awful to think of what torment animals such as chickens go through; trust me, you don't want to know what it's like at factory chicken meat farms or battery hen farms.

Whenever we have to buy eggs at the store, I MAKE SURE tat they're CAGE-FREE eggs, no matter how foolish mom calls me or thinks of me!!!

well, just tell her if she thinks you are foolish, then she just needs to get you more chickens so that you dont have to buy them at the store!!!!!

Ooo, LOL, don't tempt me. It's sooooo hard not to get more, but we have so many get killed that it's sorta dangerous. Thus is why I feel like a crap chicken mama; we have lost so many chickens; poor, innocent biddies! D:
