It's hatch day at our house and when I went out to peek and momma and babies one was kicked out of the nest, out of its egg and still has a told sal attached to it's belly. We tried putting the duckling back in but she rejected it again. It's a little slow coming to, but it's absorbing the yolk and breathing and peeping. We've got it on a clean towel on a heating pad but I'm afraid I don't know much else to do. Any advice would so appreciated. This was only about two hours ago. Thanks again!

The chick may not make it if the mom kicked it out but it still may have a chance. You'll also need to put a wet sponge or a bowl of water under the lamp somewhere where the chick can't get onto it. But you need that for humidity.

Okay, I've got the humidity closing in on 70% how high should I have it? Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.

I also just read my post and realized all of my errors! Hah! You'll have to forgive me. I'm not use to my phone's new keyboard. Momma smashed the egg open herself and then kicked it out of the nest. It's her first time going broody and she's kicked a lot of viable eggs out of the nest. We started with 14 eggs and now we are down to 6 chicks. One of them being the one she kicked out. It's been a frustrating process for sure.

Has the chick finished hatching?
