Mom's favorite sayings

Both of my parents would say "It's my way or the highway" when we complained about not getting our way.

I had a poster as a teenager that looked like a street sign and it said "ONE WAY: MY WAY". I hung it on my dad's bedroom door to be funny, but I guess he liked it because it hung there for years.

"I'm gonna knock you into the middle of next week if you don't stop <insert bad behavior here> ".... bah haha... I was a trying child.

Of course I also got the "I brought you into this world, I'll take you out of it"... but they didn't like my reply... good cause my life s***s!

While chasing my sister and I with a fly swatter, "You little hellions!"

One she told me recently is, "There is no point in worrying because most of the things you worry about never happen." It's more helpful than the hellion one.

My mom always said "If wishes were horses beggers would ride." when we said I wish...

When we wanted to get even with someone she reminded us that two wrongs never make a right.

and to be afraid is to belive more in evil than you believe in God. I miss my mom a lot.

My mother used the starving kids in Africa one too when I wouldn't eat all my food
and yes I told her to box it up and send it to them. She never did. LOL!! It got put in
the frig and heated up for my breakfast.

My dad would say often when we jest we tell the truth. I found this saying to be pretty true!

As an explanation for the timing of a curfew, my mother would say, "There ain't no good you can be up to after midnight." I think about that a lot when I read some of the things that get posted late at night around here . . . .

Your "bum" is grass and I'm the lawnmower is the one that immediately comes to mind...

Pull your head outta your bum...

Wow, that's rather depressing...

FIL says blind as a brick bat which I find hilarious. Oh and weeter hooter rather than water heater.

Think I'll ask the kids this question, hope they think of better ones than I did!
