Monday morning, in the middle of a rain storm while we were feeding chickens, we came upon a surprise.

Geraldine already raised a brood this summer. I guess she got bored?

Edit: She really has 5. She just consistently hid one in all the pictures.

I was thrilled to death about it. We have one rooster who didn't make a showing in this year's chicks (or he didn't breed true). Cross your fingers that she gave us a red headed rooster.
