Monet's Leg ( Help )

So quick update, Monet is tolerating his leg wrapping every night.. after this first week I still can't see a noticeable change other then he is standing better, but still knocks hocks when he walks.. he does however seem in high spirits.. I've added a jingle ball for him to play with in his cage.. and Yes he plays with it!.

I also lowered his food ration by A LOT.. he is getting fed about 4 tablespoons of feed a day.. and that is it.. when its gone its gone.. and that will last him an hour or two at the most.. he has dropped some weight but as my hubby says " At least now he won't bounce if he falls down hill! ".. so yes he was fat.. and he is more skinny probably from both stress and his new diet..

He still has a fit every now and then at night before falling asleep and settling down ..but i guess i can say so far so good.. and healing is on the horizon .

I had 5 of them I was taping and for the first 2 weeks-3 weeks, I couldn't really see much improvement either. The most I could say was that they didn't seem to be getting worse. If TT isn't stopped the leg that is rotating out will end up pointing completely backwards and the bird will be unable to walk at all. So for now just make sure it doesn't look like it is getting worse. The most obvious improvement came during the last week-10 days. Also you can feed some greens, they are not fattening. I gave mine finely chopped Kale and they were like little sharks. Mine were really fat too, I look back at pictures and they were like little round feather dusters on stick legs.

So small update.. we decided for Monet's best interest to stop wrapping his legs.. its the 3rd week, and his leg is twisting more still.. we also noticed that instead of fixing the TT its actually starting to turn his good leg in towards the inside.. Hubby and I have decided to just let nature do its thing.. he is knocking knees pretty bad so i'll be making him a hobble to keep his knees from knocking tomorrow.. we also figured if it gets bad enough we will opt to have the bad leg removed.. as of now.. it just gotten worse.. so will keep everyone posted we will be taking him to a vet in a few weeks. time to see the next best. move..

i would like to thank everyone for trying to help.. i did take pictures today as good as could manage.. and definitely change for the worse not the better.. :/ if it stays the way it is.. fine.. i'm okay with a gimpy bird.. if it twists all the way around we will have it removed by a good vet.. and make him a peg leg.. maybe give him an eye patch and make him a pirate peacock..LOL ( have to find some humor in this! )
