I weighed the 4 eggs I’ve gotten this week in grams,I'm getting tasty eggs from them so I'm not gonna complain. My BO and ISAB are in their second year so I'm trying to prepare for their non laying years. Guess I got about a year for my 2 SLW. They are so funny. When they want to lay an egg they go crazy. They run up into the coop squawking and run from nest box to nest box. Can't decide which one to lay in. I say get in one and be done. LOL I'm surprised they make into a nest box. Look like little kids who need to go to the potty. Wait til the last minute.
Got a 70 gram one today from my BO. ISAB usually in the range too. The 2 SLW go up and down. One day 44-46 next day 52-54. Got a puny one today 46. They seemed to be getting bigger the last two weeks and now falling off. I guess they are just ramping up slowly. I still get 4 eggs most every day. Pretty cold here today and the wind is whipping around. Changing out water every hour. I only put out about a pint and a time and mostly it's empty when I exchange. They are staying down in the run 50% of the time. Sunny and clear tarp helps to warm it up. Supposed to be down to -30 tonight. I will make sure they eat a good supper and maybe put them to bed a little early. I go by when they are up in the coop. If I go out at 1600 to feed and they are up in coop I will let them eat and then go out around 1645 if they are sill up in coop I will put them to bed then.I weighed the 4 eggs I’ve gotten this week in grams,
