OH, thats to bad, I hate when my hatches dont go well. This is way to early for me, but I have decided to set a bator full this weekend. I have a bunch of the olive, khaki, light blue, and dark red eggs that are just calling out to be set. I hope its not to cold to put the chicks out as soon as they feather up, I dont want chickens in my house for months on end.

Oh and 2 of the eggs are from my own broody... =/ yeah not great.

I'm going to be setting up the chicks in my mud room... I'll just have to do a deep cleaning in the spring :)

I have a big basement that I put the chicks in once they are a couple of weeks old and I know they are doing well enough that I dont have to be checking on them too often, but I still like to get them out as soon as I can, they dont smell as I keep the shavings clean, but the dust is so bad.

Oh chick dust is the worst... it's still all over our garage (bigger than the house, it's like a 2 car deep, tall 4 car garage.) from summer 2010 ... >.> DH looooooooves that!

Hey, you girls who are hatching, sell me some when there 4 months old ok lol, saves me from having to grow mine lol. Merry Christmas to you all, we are all fine my way, girls are doing wonderful, the covered pen has been a life saver . Warmer then being outside, and keeps the coop warmer to. I got. Rooster EE that is beautiful, he is 3 1/2 months old, hope he does not crow for a while yet lol. Anyone want a Beautiful EE rooster  nothing much going on around here. Just the way I like it. I can not wait until spring!
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. :)

Well, I did it. 94 eggs went in the bator today. What was I thinking.

I guess I'll start taking orders once I see how many make it to the last week. It should be fun tho, they will all be EE, OE, and pure Ameraucana. I set just over a dozen of the Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana from my new girls, I'll probally grow them out for a bit and see what I get for quality.
I was out most of the day moving hay around and hauling wood into the basement getting ready for this cold snap. You could really feel the temp dropping
after about 3pm, I locked the coop up early tonight, I normally wait till dark, but I was cold and tired and ready to be done outside by 4:00 so I pushed all the chickens in and shut the doors.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas.

Yes, Merry Christmas everyone.

I spent the day puttering around with the rabbits. Cleaning cages, putting the last of the weaning age kits into the growout cages, cutting wood bottoms for nestboxes, etc. It was nice and quiet in the valley.

We're headed into Missoula tomorrow to pick up a few things at home depot, and maybe see a movie. I've gotta try out the new mexican place, too.

You guys are making me crazy, talking about setting eggs and having chicks. I can't do anything until I get a coop up, probably March at the earliest. Please share some pictures so I can live through you!

We're going to town tomorrow, too Bitterroot :) We should meet up!

What kind of rabbits do you raise?

I have 3 eggs in LD set to hatch on Christmas :) Here's hoping! I'll share pics when I have cute fuzzies :)
